Recruitment to the POP-OUT Trial was completed on 30th January, 2018.  254 women with a baby in the posterior position were randomised, as planned in our sample size calculation.  More than 5,000 women were asked to participate but most women were not randomised because most babies are not in the posterior position in labour and many women had a labour which progressed so well that there was not enough time for randomisation.

Due to the need for ongoing data collection and 12 months follow-up, we anticipate final publication of our results in 2020.
